Melinda Campos is a seasoned attorney and dedicated public servant with a distinguished career in both public defense and federal legal practice. She began her legal journey as a Public Defender in Wisconsin, where she spent over three years advocating for individuals navigating complex legal challenges. Her commitment to justice and client advocacy laid the foundation for a transition to international law and federal service. Currently, Melinda serves as an Attorney-Advisor and Deployable Field Counsel for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). In this role, she provides critical legal support during emergencies and disasters—guiding policy, ensuring compliance, and advising on field operations under pressure. Her expertise helps FEMA teams make informed decisions while maintaining legal and ethical standards in the most demanding situations. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School, Melinda is also recognized for her leadership in legal circles. She was a Fellow in the prestigious White House Leadership Development Program focused on improving government performance and customer experience, demonstrating her commitment to public sector excellence. Known for her strategic insight, resilience, and collaborative approach, Melinda Campos continues to deliver high-caliber legal counsel at the intersection of public service, emergency response, and international regulations.
